In 1988, Pistachios Bulk & Health Foods was established by Peter Kanakis and his family setting out on a goal to provide all members of the Niagara region with a chance to live a healthy, organic lifestyle that can be affordable at the same time.

As an independent, small and family business Pistachios was first at Bunting Rd. then transferred to 526 Welland Ave. in 2000. In 2016 the ownership was transferred to Peter’s long-time friend, Najeeb Bataineh and his family, after promising to maintain the staff and traditions of the Pistachios family. However throughout the years Pistachios has been involved with the community and evolved along with it.
